“Pay for the Phone, Not the Fees!” – Infinix Strengthens Its Leadership in Local Smartphone Manufacturing

Infinix continues to reinforce Egypt’s position as a regional hub for electronic industries by manufacturing its smartphones locally since 2019. This commitment helps provide competitively priced smartphones to consumers, free from customs duties and additional costs. All Infinix phones manufactured in Egypt are registered with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority and are exempt from taxes and customs fees.

With the recent decision to ban international phones in the Egyptian market, locally manufactured smartphones have become even more significant. Consumers now seek high-quality devices at competitive prices, free from the burden of customs duties.

Local Manufacturing Aligned with Progress
The Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Cabinet emphasized the importance of Infinix’s local manufacturing project in a social media post. The post highlighted the Silicon Valley Electronics Factory in the Suez Canal Economic Zone as a living example of the success of local production.

The factory, equipped with five advanced production lines, employs over 210 workers and technicians. It supplies markets in Kuwait, Tunisia, and Morocco in addition to serving the local market. The facility aims to increase the local component ratio to 40% next year across its products, including smartphones, headphones, smartwatches, and chargers.

Infinix: Pioneering Local Manufacturing Since 2019
Taha Magdy, General Manager of Infinix Egypt, stated that the company was among the first to respond to the “Egypt Makes Electronics” initiative, beginning local production in 2019. He affirmed that local smartphone manufacturing aligns with the state’s vision to promote national industries and reduce reliance on imports.

Magdy added:
“Local manufacturing is not only a way to support the Egyptian economy but also a testament to our belief in the potential of the Egyptian market to become a regional hub for smartphone manufacturing and exports.”

He further explained that Infinix is working on upgrading its local production lines to meet growing demand, with a focus on innovation and creating new job opportunities for Egyptian youth. Magdy also stressed the importance of collaboration between companies and government entities to maximize the success of local manufacturing initiatives.

Through its local production efforts, Infinix underscores that Egypt is not only a significant consumer market but also a promising regional hub for smartphone manufacturing and exports.
